New Deal
Series of programs and projects instituted during the Great Depression by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. After Great depression, he helped stabilize the economy and provide jobs.

Isolationists advocated non-involvement in european and asian conflicts.

Opposes with the Italian socialists and establishes the nationalist and Fascist party.

Even though it was a civil war, several foregin countries joined the conflict.

Nationalist victory= dictatorship (Franco) ruled the country for almost 40 years after.

1931: Japan-Invasion of Manchuria
- Japanese controlled Manchurian railway.
- Japan wanted to extend their empire.
- Japanese claimed that Chinese soldiers had sabotaged the railway– attacked Chinese army.
- By 1932, Japanese had conquered the whole of Manchuria. Thousands of Chinese soldiers and civilians were killed. They set up a Japanese-controlled state called Manchuko.
