Q

What what agterryers do that affected the Boers?number of agterryers on the Boer side

A

Some time agterryers would desert their Boer employer and going the British
They would then share their knowledge of where the Boers were based during the war
Since agterryers were not counted as a part of the Boer fighting force there us no official record of their numbers. However, diaries and other informal Boer sources show that friends and relatives often shared the service of w single agterryer and it estimated approximately 15 000 were on the Boer side
