The ultimate aim of design thinking is to reconcile people’s desires with technical feasibility and business viability. How does Tim Brown explain this in an analogy?
As UX designers, we’re always trying to engage directly with real people and develop a deep understanding of their goals and needs. To borrow an analogy from Tim Brown, CEO of IDEO and author of Change by Design, design is not simply a link in the chain, but the hub at the centre of a holistic business strategy that includes customer desirability, technical feasibility, and business viability.
Steps in the Design Thinking process can be arranged in a linear fashion, however in reality it is not a linear process. What causes you to revisit a previous stage of the process?
Discovery of new information during the process can alter or rearrange the order of the steps.
