What is critical appraisal?
A
The process of assessing and interpreting evidence by systematically considering its validity, reliability and applicability.
Applicability - the extent to which the results of a research study or review hold true in other settings.
Reliability – the extent to which the same result is achieved when a research method is applied consistently to the same study population.
Validity - the extent to which the findings of a study accurately represent the causal relationship between an intervention and an outcome.
