Why does HIV not cause disease in chimps?
HIV uses CD4 cellular receptors which cannot bind with chimps.
What are the clinical features of AIDS?
Huge reduction in circulating CD4+ T cells. Severe recurrent infections. High incidence of aggressive cancer. B-cell lymphoma.

Pneumocystis carinii (pneumonia). Kaposi sarcoma (cancer).
