Q

explain the difference between environmental factors and hereditary factors? 4 marks

A

Environmental factors and hereditary factors both influence an individual’s traits, but they differ in origin. Hereditary factors are genetic traits passed down from parents, such as eye color, height, and genetic disorders. These are encoded in DNA and remain largely unchanged throughout life. In contrast, environmental factors are external influences that shape development, including nutrition, education, climate, and lifestyle choices. For example, a person may inherit a genetic predisposition for tall height (hereditary), but poor nutrition during childhood (environmental) could prevent them from reaching their full potential height.
