Never get it

Ask myself…
What do I want from networking?
Who am I trying to connect with?
Do I need to dedicate more time to it?

What have my results been so far?
Who have I connected with, what has it meant to me thus far?

to be “in the limelight” means to be the center of attention — just like those early performers standing in the glowing beam.
What are the 2.5 basic ways to meet someone?
Try to meet them on your own - cold call, email, “go where they go.”
Get other people to help you with the introduction - someone who might know someone directly that can facilitate a meeting or at least an introduction
Get them to call you, or know you, first - by referral, from column, books or attending seminars
a personal connection, a business connection, someone of opposite sex, a hero, potential employer
Make a list of the ten most significant connections you’ve ever made.
Don’t include parents or immediate family
- What do you have in common?
- What have you gained from this connection?

- What have you given to earn and keep this connection?

Help others so they will look forward to helping you

Get a better job?

What can sometimes take years?
Figuring out exactly what you want
it evolves, if you want it bad enough, and you’re persistent, chip a little away over time, eventually you’ll get it
Good things come to those who…
have patience, take consistent, persistant actions towards what they want
What’s a universal truth?
Before you GET what you want, you have to KNOW what you want, and make a GAME PLAN to get it.
What does your game plan include?
Actions you MUST take to make “Wants” turn into reality
contain actions for meeting people on your own and through third party introductions
