- Collect blood samples for laboratory testing or for transfusion.
- Properly label collected blood samples with the necessary patient-identifying data.
- Deliver or transport collected samples within appropriate prescribed time limits
- May process collected blood samples through centrifugation and aliquoting samples
- May assist in collecting other specimens such as urine and non-blood samples
- Draw blood units from donors or for transfusion
