External War and control over the country. Going back towards absolute power.

Show trials, increasingly violent suppression of uprisings, centralisation of government, control of the economy, dechristianisation and increased influence of sans-culottes.
What happened during dechristianisation?
Calendar changed, crosses burned, religious orders no longer allowed.

Saying to the peoples of Europe that the French would help them to liberate themselves. Becomes an ideological war.

Disturbances in 60/83 departements. Caused by overthrow of Girondins and royalists.
