Wetf Flashcards
State 4 greenhouse gas
- Carbon dioxide
- Methane
- Nitrous oxide
- Water vapour
What is a greenhouse gas?
Greenhouse gas is an atmospheric gas which traps heat in the atmosphere and helps keep the earth warm but an access amount could lead to global warming
state two consequences of global warming for the environment.
- Rising sea levels due to melting polar ice caps and glaciers.
- More extreme weather events, such as heatwaves, storms, and droughts.
Explained in short, by producing genetically engineered plants with additional subarine in their roots could reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide.
Genetically engineered plants with additional suberin in their roots could help reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide because suberin is a carbon-rich compound that helps store carbon in the soil, preventing it from being released as CO₂ into the atmosphere and thus helping to mitigate global warming.
