What is the well’s score used for?

A

Used in outpatients and A&E, low risk and a negative D-dimer can rule out a DVT, meaning an ultrasound isn’t needed.

A

Calf swelling more than 3cm than the other leg +1
Collateral non varicose superficial veins present +1
Entire swollen leg +1
Localised tenderness along the deep veinous system +1
Pitting oedema confined to symptomatic leg +1
Paralysis, paresis, recent plaster immobilisation of the lower extremity +1
