What was the Wells Fargo Project all about?
It was called the GE Integration Program originated as a result of Wells Fargo purchase of GE Consumer & Equipment finance Domestic & International business

GE’s Consumer Distribution Finance is a market leader in providing customized inventory financing to fund the flow of finished durable goods from manufactures to dealers.
What’s Capgemini’s involvement in the GE capital integration project?
It’s called GE Capital Integration Program. Wells Fargo was fast approaching the TSA deadline to complete the migration post its M&A. They needed significant help with IT PMO and UAT test management and requested Capgemini to onboard 10 senior IT team members in this program.
What was the Skill Set requirement for the Wells Fargo project
The skillset requirement was a combination of Project management, BA and Test Management skills

35 Billion Dollar portfolio acquisition, 4000 end users, 1000 critical interfaces, 180 critical business applications
What was your role in Wells Fargo
UAT test co-ordination and test management for the Cross Apps program whose application spanned across 4 LOBs - CDF, EF, Canada, & Richo
What are the applications that you supported?
Support Central, Property Tax Management System (PTMS), Moody’s Risk Analytics (MRA) and Syndication Account Management (SYNAM)
What’s the total number of end users for Support Central
It has over 2500 end users, of which about 100 have participated in the UAT testing
What’s the total number of end users for other Cross Apps
They were in 100s and about 25 users participated in UAT testing across the other Cross Apps
What are your responsibilities as a UAT test co-ordinator in Wells Fargo?
a) Co-ordinate and Conduct the UAT testing, BCP and Go-Live testing and Hypercare for the Cross Apps program.
b) As part of UAT, i interfaced with the end users, App owners, Developers, QA testers across various applications
c) UAT test planning and development
d) UAT test execution management
e) Test Assets and Defect Management in ALM
f) Conduct daily defect triage and test progress status meetings
g) End of the Day daily status report on the progress to WF manager
h) Weekly Report of the progress to the Senior Management of both GE and WF during the UAT status update meeting
i) have had to do multi tasking and various other things that were necessary for the UAT test management
Explain Support Central
- There are two parts to the application - Sites & Libraries
- In the sites, users have communities and they can create new communities
- In Sites, they can create channels and post their data
- They can add or edit messages in the channel.
- They can change the order.
- In the communities, you can manage entities like workflow, dataform, surveys, adhoc reports. Community is essentially a container for all the modules.
- Facilitator and Co-facilitator manage the community
- Main modules - workflow and dataform
- You create the workflow and add forms to the workflow. You can add various types of fields to the form.
- Workflow - when i submit the form, it should be go to the manager and when the manager approves it, it should go to the HR manager to approve it.
- Dataform - maintaining record and capability to view the records (a way of capturing data)
They can go to Library from the Community Homepage.
- Document Management System
- Users can upload documents in their designated libraries
What ever the users had in GE, they will be able to validate the same data in WF (i.e. after migration).
Two parts to the testing - Functional and Data Migration / Reconciliation testing
Type of defects observed in Support Central
- Users unable to access the libraries, they were getting a blank page.
- Users unable to search people because search function wasn’t working properly
- Users that were not a part of AD-ENT group (directory) and Support Central DB. They received access issues.
- Email function not working
What are the components of UAT test plan
Timelines - Env. Availability, SIT Testing, UAT test execution, Defect fixes, Re-testing and Ad-hoc testing
Scope of UAT testing - which includes main functions that will be tested
Exit Criteria - There are no open Critical 1 or 2 severity issues and Business provides the sign off

How do you test a system
break the system into parts and examine what each part does, like what’s the input and what’s the output and generate scenarios to test each part individually and test the system as a whole (from the end to end perspective)
