New government faces a revolution from the Sparticists. The Freikorps are called to put them down

Germany signs the Treaty of Versailles
1921
The Freikorps stage their own revolution led by Kapp - leave after people go on strike
1923
Munich Putsch - Hitler rounds up men from beer halls, but is defeated by the army and imprisoned

Stresemann is elected as chancellor - changes currency to Rentenmark (which reduces hyperinflation)

Dawes Plan - Germany gets a loan from the USA
1925
Locarno Pact - Won’t try and change Germany’s boarders, and agree to demilitarisation in the Rhineland

Germany is invited to join the League of Nations and accepts

Stresemann signs the Kellogg Briande Pact - Germany won’t go to war
1929
The Young Plan gives Germany another 58 years to pay back reparations
