6.Measuring by Time
1.Measuring by Weight
Kitchen Scales: Digital or mechanical scales are used to weigh ingredients like flour, sugar, and meats. This method is highly accurate and essential for baking
- Measuring by Volume
- Liquid Measuring Cups: Cups with a spout used for measuring liquids like water or milk.
- Dry Measuring Cups: Cups used for measuring dry things like flour or sugar. They come in a set of different sizes.
- Measuring Spoons: Small spoons used for measuring small amounts of ingredients, both dry and liquid, like salt or vanilla extract.
3.Measuring by Count
Individual Items: Some recipes call for a specific number of items, such as eggs, fruits, or vegetables.
4.Measuring by Size
Visual Cues: Recipes might specify sizes like “a medium onion” or “a large clove of garlic.” While less precise, experience and practice help in estimating these quantities.
5.Measuring by Temperature
Thermometers: Essential for certain cooking tasks. Candy thermometers measure the temperature of boiling sugar, meat thermometers check the doneness of meats, and instant-read thermometers provide quick readings for various foods.
6.Measuring by Time
Timers: Used to keep track of cooking and baking times. Modern ovens and microwaves often have built-in timers, but standalone kitchen timers are also common.
