Mix-Gas EGS requirements?
EGS charged with bottom mixtures unless mixture contains less than 16% 02. In this case the EGS gas mixture shall range from 15-17% 02.
What are the three purposes of recompression treatment?
- Crush the bubble
- Increase the partial pressure of O2
- Allow sufficient time for bubble resorption

What is a category 1A survey card?
Corrective action must be accomplished prior to manned use of the system. Prior to further manned use of the system, full recertification, or removal of the suspension by the SCA is required
What is a category 1B Survey Card?
Corrective action must be accomplished prior to system certification. Manned system operational demonstrations may be permitted by the SCA when Category 1B SCSCs are outstanding.
What is a category 2 survey card?
Corrective action is desirable, but not mandatory, although desired. The deficiency should still be addressed.
What is a barotrauma?
Barotrauma, or damage to body tissues from the mechanical effects of pressure,
results when pressure differentials between body cavities and the hydrostatic pressure surrounding the body, or between the body and the diving equipment, are not
equalized properly.
