Comfort Zone(s)
A limited area of perception and association where the individual or group can function without fear or stress; a defined physical or psychological area in which we feel at ease.
Current Reality
All that forms an important and vital part of what an individual believes to be real, at the moment.
Performance Reality
How we act and perform based on our current dominant self image.
Replacement Picture
The new picture we give to ourselves in order to change a habit or attitude, or a belief, that allows us to act, behave or perform at a higher level than our current picture allows.
Self-Image
The accumulation of all the attitudes and opinions we have perceived about ourselves, that form our subconscious picture of who we believe we are; our imagined self.
Self-Regulation
Following an internal standard of action or behavior.
Self-Talk
The constant conversation going on inside of us that allows us to evaluate and assess our behavior, positive or negative, appears to have a confirming and affirming effect on establishing our self-image. Self-talk has three components: Words, pictures, and emotions.
Tension
An emotional state characterized by restlessness and anxiety; a mental state where one is thwarted from achieving an end.
“The Next Time”
A vow to better our performance at the next opportunity; a phrase to begin creating a replacement picture.
Chronological Resume
Spells out job history from the most recent job backwards, with the most recent job having the most space.
Cover Letter
Introduces you to the employer, should identify the specific position.
Functional Resume
Designed to emphasize your qualifications and not previous employers.
Resume
A digest of your qualifications that informs employers of who you are, what you know, what you have done, what you would like to do, and how you can benefit the employer.
Targeted Resume
Designed with a specific job title in mind.
