What is the difference between sex and gender?
Sex = assigned at birth
-based on appearance of external genitalia, chromosomes, reproductive organs and their function
Gender = how a person identifies
-doesn’t relate to sex
Define gender identity, gender expression, gender norms
Gender Identity - personal sense of self and being
Gender Expression - clothing, mannerisms, voice or how a person communicates identity to others
Gender Norms - social and cultural expectation of expression
What are different terms to describe non-binary identities?
- Genderqueer
- Gender fluid
- Gender nonconforming
- Agender

What is the definition of a trans man and trans woman?
Trans Man = person assigned female at birth and identifies as a man
Trans Woman = person assigned male at birth and identifies as a woman
*use the persons self-identifies name and pronouns
What are the different types of sexual identity/orientation?
