where does most of where we learn about food come from?
Immediate family (Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles), government procided materials, and the education system.
What factors affect the impact of food selection?
May be unsure how to apply their knowledge, sources mat be conflicting, nutritious may be too costly, lack of suitable food preparation facilities, lack of time, sensory appeal, cultural influences, pressure, food marketing.
What are health campaigns?
efforts to persuade certain groups within the public to engage in behaviours that will improve their health or refrain from behaviours that are unhealthy
What is considered a credible source?
Information is accurate, current, and from a known authority.
How can you access a source?
Check source of information, purpose of information, context of information, accuracy of the information, how it is presented, the language used
What is an evidence-based practice?
A practice that has been rigorously evaluated in experimental evaluations and shown to make positive, statistically significant difference in important outcomes
What values does an evidence-based practice hold?
Is supported by data, has been repeatedly tested and is more affective than alternative practices, and can be reproduced in other settigns.
What is data analysis?
The process of cleaning, analysing, interpreting, and visualising data to discover valauble insight that drive smarter and more effective business decisions.
