Week 9/10 Flashcards
Use a diagram to visualise the cause of indicated variation.
Use a diagram to visualise the causes of observed variation.
Define Accuracy
The closeness of the agreement between the result of a measurement and the true value of the measurement
Define precision
The closeness of the agreement between mutually independent test results obtained under stipulated conditions
Define Bias as an alternative to accuracy.
The difference between the observed average of measurements and the reference value.
The reference value, also known as the master value, is a value that serves as an agreed-upon reference for the measured values
Define calibration
All the operations of determining the values of the errors of a measuring instrument and adjustment
Define Linearity
The difference in the bias values through the expected operating range of the gauge
