Week 8 Flashcards
Explain the instructional systems design model (ISD)
Needs analysis, -> training design and delivery -> training evaluation
What are the 3 basic rights?
Right to know, right to participate, right to refuse unsafe work
What does needs analysis include?
- Organizational analysis
- Task analysis
- Person analysis
What does training design and delivery include?
- Training objectives
- Training content
- Training methods
- Learning principles
What does training evaluation include?
- Evaluation criteria
2. Evaluation design
What is a training needs analysis?
Jobs and specific job tasks in need of training are identified.
What are the key decisions to be made in the training design and delivery
Training objectives, content and methods
Explain kirkpatricks hierarchical model
Reaction-> learning -> behaviour -> results
What is a safety orientation?
Providing a base level of H&S training to all employees and reinforcing a safety climate
How are first aid requirements determined?
Determined based on the number of workers per shift, the distance away from fixed medical services, and the hazard level of the workplace
What are the 3 ways to categorize H&S programs?
Engineering interventions, administrative interventions, behavioural interventions
What are the two types of safety behaviours?
Safety compliance: following rules an procedures
Safety participation: going beyond compliance and engaging in proactively to improve safety
What are the 3 conditions to work safely?
Safety performance= ability x motivation x opportunity
What is the ABC model?
Antecedents (events/cues) -> behaviours (responses) -> consequences (positive vs negative)
What is the reinforcement theory?
Focusing on the power of external rewards and punishment in the motivation of behaviour
