The use of scientific evidence integrated with clincal expreince, patient values, and preferences in the practice of patient care.
Needs for EBP
Documentation to demonstrate cost-effective, quality care that will improve practice and client outcomes. Accountability information. Communication with other interdiciplinary teams. Communication with consumers.
What is EBP in TR?
Professional expreince, expertise and judgement alone cannot soley justify the effectiveness of TR service delivery. No TR program should be proposed without a search of research literature for support.
Common Barriers for EBP
A general lack of research evidence. Lack of understanding EBP. Time. Reality.
Different Levels of EBP Awareness
