What is contextualized language?
Natural language, that is happening in the the present moment. Conversation is aided by contextual information.
What is de-contextualized language?
Anything that does not concern the here or now. Hypothetical. Language that happens when you have a standardized test.
Syntax Goals?
- Age-appropriate morphemes – e.g.,articles, pronouns
- Increase sentence length and complexity
- Vary sentence type
Phonology Goals?
Improving intelligibility, sound repertoire, phonological awareness.
Semantic Goals?
increasing vocab size and semantic relationships
Pragmatics Goals?
improving language flexibility, understanding of social rules, narrative skills
