What is Personal Effectiveness?
The degree to which individual’s feel useful and able to influence a group.
What happens when there is a lack of Personal Effectiveness?
- Low self efficiency
- Lack of power
- Feelings of inadequacy
- Frustration
What is Mediated Discussion?
A useful way for people to work through their issues and arrive at solutions that are satisfying to everyone.
What is TRUST in group development.
The degree to which group members believe that others will respond respectfully to their openness and will follow through with their commitments.
What is Cooperative Development?
The increasing level of trust and respect experienced by group members who are open and accepting and risk giving and receiving feedback.
What is Mutuality?
Working cooperatively and interpedently towards a common goal.
What is Disclosure?
Openness ; The act of sharing personal thoughts, feelings, or experiences with others in a group setting.
What is Cohesion?
The degree to which group members feel a sense of comfort, mutual respect, and productivity together.
What is Groupthink?
When groups become so close that they avoid disagreeing to maintain group harmony, rather than stating their own opinions.
- (Based on common desire not to upset the balance of the group)
What is Productivity?
When working together takes a group closer to their goal and there is significant process.
What is Transformational Change?
The personal change that occurs through enhanced self-awareness during a group process.
-You need self reflection for this change, as it gives insights to our beliefs/values and their impact on our participation/behaviour during the group process.
