16
Q

What is MSLT used for in narcolepsy?

A
  • MSLT (multi-sleep latency test) testing time taken to fall asleep using EEG, and when REM comes in. narcolepsy can begin with REM
17
Q

What sample can we take to aid narcolepsy investigation?

A

CSF to measure orexin - controls wakefulness. low levels in narcolepsy

18
Q

What are treatments for narcolepsy?

A

no cure. drugs can be taken commonly to counterract excessive sleepiness and cataplexy. these are stimulants.
