What is ethical approval?
All research must consider the ethical issues that may arise in the project, in most cases, ethical approval will be needed by an ethics committee before they can start researching
What is a pilot study?
Where the study is carried out on a small scale to test the feasibility of the study, changes can be made to improve the study after this
What is dissemination?
Where research is communicated to the outside world, this can involve being published to journals or presented
What is ethics?
A branch of philosophy that seeks to address the questions of morality (beliefs or standards about concepts like good and bad, right and wrong)
Which laws were introduced to ensure patient safety and ethical research?
Numremburg code (1949) and Helsinki accords (1964)
What are the 4 Georgetown principles?
Autonomy, beneficence, non maleficence and justice
