WEEK 5 Flashcards
what is the importance of angular motion?
levers that help create linear motion through a series of angular motion
what are the 3 equations of angular kinematics ( angular speed, angular velocity and angular acceleration)
angular speed= angular distance divided by time
angular velocity= angular displacement divided by time
angular acceleration= angular velocity divided by time
what are the 3 equations for linear kinematics ( speed, velocity and acceleration)
- speed= distance divided by time
- velocity= displacement divided by time
- acceleration= velocity divided by time
define angular velocity
change in displacement over time
describe radians ( a unit of measurement)
an angle described by an arc equal to the length of the radius of the circle.
what is 1 radian equal to in degrees
1 radian= 57.3 degrees
define the absolute segment angle on the human body
the angle of inclination of a body segment in a relation to space. the coordinate system is placed at the distal end point of the segment
define the relative joint angle
the included angle between longitudinal axis of 2 segments . this does not describe the position of the segments in place.
what is the absolute trunk angle ( degrees)
75 degrees
what is the absolute thigh angle (degrees)
85 degrees
what is the trunk angle to thigh angle ( degrees)
-10 degrees
what is the thigh angle to trunk angle (degrees)
10 degrees
what is the equation to find the knee angle
the degree of the knee= the degree of the thigh - the degree of the tibia
- if the degree is positive, the knee is in flexion and if in negative it is in extension
what is the equation to find angle ankle
the degree of the ankle= the degree of the tibia- the degree of the foot. (+90)
if the degree is positive, the joint is in plantar flexion
if in negative is in doors flexion
what is the rear foot angle equation
the degree of the rear foot= the degree of the shank- degree of the calcaneus
