10-week physical activity and smoking cessation program, delivered across Canada from 2016-2018.
In-person 10-week clinics at Running Room locations –> Learn to run 5km, Evidence-based cessation strategies, Group and coach support
Goals of RTQ + how to measure
- Reduce smoking + increase phys act lvls
- Surveys, questionnaires, interviews
Challenges and measures to counteract them
- Attendance –> Not tailored to variety of running abilities
=> Add walking group & name change - Logistical barriers (e.g. 5pm clinic across town in rush hour) => Increase number of clinic locations
Participants were more likely to participate if they:
Lower nicotine dependence Lower MVPA Being male and an older adult Higher group cohesion (ATG-S) Higher belonging
