What addresses do you need to send or receive data through a network?
An IP and MAC address
Ethernet cable and WiFi
Lets your computer connect to a network
Router
Connects lots of different devices together and helps route network traffic
Network stack
A set of hardware or software that provides the infrastructure for a computer
What is the IP?
The internet protocol, a network protocol, that makes sure our packets of data are sent to the right computers.
What is the Transmission Control Protocol?
The TCP handles delivering information from one network to another. It was vital to the creation of the internet. It works along IP to ensure the internet works properly.
What is ICANN?
Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers
All domain names for websites are registered through this.
What is DNS?
What maps a domain name to its specific IP address. Domain Name System
NAT
Network Address Translation
Lets organizations use one public IP address and many private IP addresses within the network
