I wanted to keep the relationship discreet, but she promulgated it

Impudent, not showing respect
I was offended by the brash man

To sneer at
When presented with a dumb idea I scoffed at it
Belittle
To make seem less important
I thought it was a good idea, but he belittled it
Tangible
Having actual form
She thought I was cheating, but there was no tangible evidence
Laceration
Cut in the skin
When I visited my friend, he had a ton of lacerations on his arms
Castigate
To correct by punishing
When actions instead of words are wrong, they’re more likely to be castigated
Sordid
Dirty, base, scandalous
Drug deals are in sordid businesses
Octogenarian
Person in their eighties
I knew to trust the octogenarian with life advice
