What are localized effects?

A

Short term; may only affect the behavior that is associated with the ace

ex) if a child experiences violent physical abuse then they maybe upset by a violent TV show

A

Most detrimental; has more generalize mental health effects; ace causes the child to not be able to reach certain developmental milestones

  • Is the ace ongoing or repetitive
  • does the ace dramatically change the child’s primary support system such as a parent being in prison
  • does the ace occur in tandem with other outside stressor such as poverty
    -does the ace interrupt some crucial developmental process
