its a pigment found in some plant cells that controls plant development

The photochrome system provides info on if the plant is receiving enough red light if it is not a shift occurs this shift also causes vertical growth

How does the ratio of Pr to Pfr help the plant to determine the season
A
Pr -> Pfr in day (fast)
Pfr -> Pr at night (slow)
If the ratio is falling then the days are longer and summer is coming, if the ratio is rising then the days are getting shorter and winter is coming
