- Main purpose of AHPRA is health professional registration to practice in Australia
Physiotherapy Board of Australia (PBA)
- functions of the board include:
- registering physiotherapists and students to practise in Australia
- developing standards, codes and guidelines for the physiotherapy profession
- handling notifications, complaints, investigations and disciplinary hearings
- assessing overseas trained practitioners who wish to practise in Australia
approving accreditation standards and accredited courses of study
Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC)
The APA is the peak body representing the interests of Australian physiotherapists and their patients.
- Accreditation authority responsible for accrediting education providers and programs of study for the physiotherapy profession
-Independent national body – local and global oversight of guidance, development & assurance of standards for health professional practice in the public interest. - Assessment of qualifications and skills of overseas-qualified physiotherapists for registration and migration purposes

World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT)
