The Twelve Steps
admit we’re powerless, higher power restore sanity, turn will to God, moral inventory, admit to people of our wrongdoings, God will remove these defects and shortcomings, list of those we harmed and are willing to make amends, make the amends where possible, continue to take personal inventory where wrong, sought prayer & meditation/ spiritual awakening, after awakening carry message to other alcoholics

Pharmacological Treatment for Alcoholism
Disulfiram recently that develops acute sensitivity to ethanol (hangover effects felt immediately)
Stepped Care Approach
Treatment should be least intrusive; considering physical effects on the client & clients lifestyle & resources (more intensive for more severe problems)
OSDUHS (Ontario Student Drug Use and Health Survey)
Basically gathered data from 1977-2013/2015- found that cigarettes, alcohol, opioids, highly-caffeinated drinks, over the counter cold meds, driving after drinking, cannabis use, riding with someone under influence, street drugs have all lowered significantly, but now e-cigarettes, waterpipe (hookah), the drinking of alcohol (binge drinking), cannabis dependency remain
