What is the function of heat clearing herbs?
Clear heat and purge from interior. Many of these herbs are antibiotic + antiviral. They drain dampness (anti-pyretic by bringing down fever)
What is something you can accidentally damage with heat clearing herbs?
Spleen - as it has aversion to cold and bitter

What is Sheng Di Huang?
Rehmannia - pronounced like Shung di Huang. Raw version of this herb
Clears heat and cools blood.

What is Qing Hao?
Artimesia Cold Liver & Gallbladder Bitter, acrid Clears deficiency heat - fever due to yin or blood deficiency. Clears summerheat Cools blood and stops bleeding

Can be dissolved by heat though, so should be cooked last
