Q

What is the process of calibrating outputs in Pro Tools Ultimate?

A

Under setup&raquo_space; preferences&raquo_space; metering, choose calibration reference level (default = -18dB aka 0VU!)

Create a new mono audio track and insert a signal generator plug-in. Set frequency to 1kHz sine wave and set the output level to the value chosen for the reference level

Set the output to an internal bus

Create an aux track for each output available and set the output to the corresponding output (track 1 is output 1, etc)

Set the input to these tracks to accept the 1k tone
Adjust the output trim pots on the back of the I/O, while using an external VU meter for each channel, should read 0VU
