Q

What happens when we freeze tracks, and what are some exceptions to the “freeze”?

A

Source material on the track is replaced with audio that has been processed by all of the plug-ins on the track (what you hear is what you’ll get)

Muted clips are not rendered

Cannot edit audio clips when frozen

When frozen, all plugins are made inactive, depending on the insert point

The frozen audio will include any automation except volume

Sends, pan, mute and volume can still be changed
