Myotome strength assessment
Myotome
Group of muscles innervated by a single nerve root. Myotomal weakness = muscle weakness
Dermatome
Area on the skin innervated by the same nerve root.
“Dermatomal paresthesia”
Peripheral nerve injury with corresponding loss of sensation
Anatomical snuff box
Tendon- extensor policies breves, extensor policies longus, abductor policies longus
Artery- Radial
Bone- scaphoid
Nerve- superficial branch of the radial nerve

Cutaneous nerves of the Palm
Proximal to distal-
Palmar cutaneous branch of the ulnar Nerve
Digital branches of the ulnar nerve
Medial that goes under the carpal tunnel turns to digital branches of the Median nerve, the palmar cutaneous branch of the Median nerve is spared
