The degree to which social status can change within a culture
Horizontal social mobility
Change in social situation that does not affect status (change from one work department to another)

Rich people buying brands with signals for everyone that they are rich items
Inconspicuous meaning
Rich people buying brands which signals only insiders that they are the same as them
Trickle-down effect
Tren which started in upper class and copied by lower class
Prominence meaning
Intensity of stimuli that cause them to stand out
Absolute treshold of stimuli
The minimum level of stimulus needed for stimulus to be perceived

The stronger the initial stimulus, the greater the additional intensity needed for the second stimulus to be perceived as different
