What does David Brooks write about the relationship between pathos (level 1) and logos (level 2) and preaching deductive sermons?

A

Level 2 (logos) has to go through Level 1 (pathos) in order to make decision. This is the reason we will never change lives if we preach primarily deductive sermons.
