Nuclear family
A family group made up a parents and children only.
Extended family
A family group including relatives beyond the nuclear family.
Family therapy
A therapeutic approach that works with families or other groups of close relationships
Script
In psychology, script means an establish way of behaving in a particular situation.
Replicative script
A way of behaving in response to situation that repeats earlier behaviour. Either of the person or of someone they have observed.
Corrective script
A way of behaving in response to a situation that is adopted to try to differ from a past way of doing things.
Attribution
The ways in which people perceive cause in every day situations.
Global attribution 
When a cause being assigned to seem to be a stable part of the person, i.e. as a characteristic that persists through different situations.
Triangulation
In Family systems, a relational dynamic where a third-party is used in a conflict between two people.
Genogram
An informative family diagram used in both therapy and research.
Systems theory
An interdisciplinary research area looking at how complex systems work.
