When the tibia translates forward and our foot is in contact with the support surface, there is some shear force’s between the foot and support surface
–> in addition to the vertical ground reaction forces there are parallel forces in the form of shear forces and stresses

redistribution of plantar pressure form a specific location to a broad area encompassing the entire plantar aspect of the foot
