What does Bethany Bryson’s “Anything but heavy metal” exmaine and argue?

A

-Highly educated like many types of music and that hate some kinds of music (distancing yourself from the genre)
-Four types of music most hated by educated people were rap, gospel, heavy metal, and country
-Bryson argues this isn’t a coincidence - highly educated were distancing themself from this music because it was associated with lower socioeconomic status
-Not about the intrinsic qualities - these genres actually do have sophisticated musicological properties
