Depression, anxiety, fear, anger numbness
Behavioural effects of trauma
Cutting, substance/alcohol abuse, isolation, suicide attempts
Cognitive effects of trauma
Memory lapses, loss of time, recollection, harder decision making, concentration issues
Spiritual effects of trauma
Guilt, shame, hatred to self, feeling like a bad person, questioning life purpose
Historical trauma
The cumulative emotional and physical wounding across generations
Trauma informed care
An approach that recognized the possibility that people may have had traumatic experiences that can be triggered by processes of care systems like power imbalance.
