A
- Preoperative - day of surgery admission centre
- Anasthesia - holding bay or anaesthetic bay
- Intraoperative - OR or procedural room
- Post Anaesthesia Recovery Unit

What is local anaesthetic?
A
A drug that blocks conduction when applied locally to the nerve tissue. The block produced is entirely reversible

Spinal and epidural

- Lignocaine (quick and short acting)
- Bupivacaine (slow and long acting)
- Ropivacaine (as above)
