Why do we have an immune system?
Because our body is constantly attacked by pathogens

Infectious disease is caused by a pathogen

Only 1 of the top 10 causes of death in upper/middle class families is related to infectious disease, the rest are diseases.

Disease is always present in a population within a region

A rapid increase in cases higher than expected in a population within a region
