strongly influenced by Marx’s ideas but rejected the idea of communism arguing it would require even more social control

different concepts from functionalism and Marxism to create his own system

claimed there were 4 main classes upper class, white collar workers, petite bourgeoisie and the manual working class

examined the aristocracy who lacked economic wealth, yet strong political power

contrary to Marx it shoes that power does not = money
