summary
Automated weather stations are designed to save labor and gather information from remote regions or areas with constant weather data. They require a microprocessor, storage, battery, and sensors like thermometers, anemometers, humidity sensors, barometers, level sensors, and light sensors. Data from these sensors is sent to a microprocessor for calculations and stored in a central database. Some automated weather stations are located near airports, with reports sent automatically every five minutes.
