it may be included in ATIS

What is the definition of a dry runway?
surface not affected by water, slush, snow or ice
What is the definition of a damp runway?
the surface shows a change of colour due to moisture
What is the definition of a wet runway?
the surface is soacked but no significant patches of standing water are visible.
standing water is considered to exist when water on the runway surface is >3mm
What is the definition of water patches on a runway?
significant patches of standing water are visible on more than 25% of the runway
What is the definition of a flooded runway?
extensive patches of standing water are visible on more than 50% of the runway
what are the classifications of braking coefficients?
<0.25 - poor
- 26 - 0.29 - poor to med
- 3 - 0.35 - med
- 36 - 0.39 - med to good
>0.4 - good
When is braking action measurement unreliable?
in wet snow and slush
When should an A/C make routine meteorological air reports?
at ATS reporting points
or
at roughly 1 hour intervals
or
when requested
What criteria make an A/C exempt from making routine meteorologial air reports?
flight duration is 2 hours or less
A/C is within an hour of landing
A/C is below 1500m (5000ft)
