What is the process of obtaining departure information?
Tune in the ATIS fcy and listen
if not available then request departure information

What are clearance limits?
the point beyond which you may not proceed without further clearance
When can the words ‘Take off’ be used by pilots?
ONLY WHEN READING BACK ATC CLEARANCE

What is to be said by the pilots during a rejected TO due to an engine failure?
‘Stopping, engine failure’

when crossing the piano keys
ATC will confirm and give instructions

What is the extent of the function and authority of a flight information service officer?
provides information for the safe and efficient conduct of flight in the ATZ
it is the pilots decision to take action on the information given
can give instructions to A/C and vehicles on the ground, except on the active runway
can clear to taxi but not TO
can pass information from qualified ATC in involved airspace further down the line
What is the function and authority of a radio operator?
may pass useful information to A/C, eg rwy in use, circuit direction and surface wind
is info only
decision making is the pilots responsibility
does not issue clearances
