How is an A/C first identified for radar service?
using squawk codes or asking the A/C to report position and heading
What is the order of information to be given for an A/C to set up initial contact enroute (IFR)?
1) station being addressed
2) A/C Call sign
3) Either FL maintaining or if not in level flight then FL cleared
4) any further ATC instruction, eg radar heading or speed restirction.

1) Fix
2) Level
3) inbound track
4) right or left turn

what information, if practical, will controllers given regarding conflicting traffic?
relative bearing, distance and direction of movement
What are the 3 phrases that a pilot can use when responding to conflicting traffic information from ATC?
Looking
or
traffic in sight

When ATC provides avoiding action left or right when should the pilot do?
max rate of turn in the direction specified and max pitch immediately
If a pilot is required to follow a TCAS RA instead of ATC instruction what should e pilot say to ATC?
‘TCAS RA’
followed by ‘clear of conflict, returning to…’ if returning to assigned clearance.
When passing over compulsory reporting points, what is the order of information to be given?
1) A/C identification
2) Position
3) Time
4) FL or alt (incl passing level and cleared level is not maintaining the cleared level)
5) next position and time over a reporting point
6) next significant point (like FIR boundaries) (optional)
What will an enroute ATC usually give an arriving A/C before instructing it to switch to the approach frequency?
